A Quieter Getaway at Bankhead Resort

Your basecamp for North Alabama adventure

The Ranch at Bankhead Resort is a place to make yourself at home in Double Springs, Alabama. Come for a cabin getaway shaped by North Alabama’s woods, waterfalls, and small towns. You might spend a morning exploring Bankhead National Forest, plan a longer hike in the Sipsey Wilderness, or trade the trail for an afternoon near Smith Lake.

Our established Outlaw Cowboy Country Cabin welcomes guests with rustic character and a loft layout. The double cabin now joins our cabin lineup, and a distinctive woodland stay is also part of The Ranch. Each accommodation has its own character; our cabin guide helps you begin choosing the right fit.

You do not have to fill every hour to make the trip worthwhile. Choose one outing you are excited about, leave time for a detour through a nearby community, and come back ready to enjoy an unhurried evening. Whether your plans revolve around hiking, photography, or simply spending time together, start with a comfortable place to return to.

Explore beyond the cabin

Let’s go on an adventure

A stay at The Ranch opens the door to several different North Alabama experiences. Waterfall visitors can research Kinlock, Caney Creek, Sougahoagdee, and other forest destinations. Hikers can plan a Sipsey Wilderness route, while photographers can spend a day noticing the light, rock formations, and changing seasons along the way.

There is plenty to discover beyond a trailhead. Look up beneath the sandstone arch at Natural Bridge Park, explore Winston County’s history in Double Springs and Houston, or learn about Haleyville’s place in the first 9-1-1 call story. Smith Lake adds open-water scenery, and Dismals Canyon offers a separate canyon outing with guided night-tour options.

For a longer day trip, head toward Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, and Florence for recording history, museums, architecture, and Tennessee River views. Our local attraction guide brings the options together. Choose a manageable route, check current visitor information, and keep time to enjoy each stop.
